Internship programme 2024
We are happy to announce the successful completion of our inaugural Journalistic internship programme at Civil Society Media in partnership with Greenwich University.
Two students were selected for the 5-week course which took place over September and October 2024. Our internees were invited to work with the three content generating hubs of the business, prior to focusing on one main area of interest.
"It was fantastic to welcome the Daniel Phelan Trust’s first two interns to Civil Society Media. Working with the editorial team, they shadowed our reporters before each writing their own pieces for publication on our website."
Rob Preston, News Editor, Civil Society Media
"Our two interns got to experience two very different events during their time with us, gaining first hand experience in different elements of planning and production."
Jenni O’Donovan, Events Editor, Civil Society Media
"The Daniel Phelan Trust interns chose to ‘major’ with the marketing department, focusing on copywriting and further developing their creative skills. It was a pleasure to have them as part of the team."
Kirsty Brown, Director of marketing, Civil Society Media
"Both interns demonstrated a willingness to learn. They had a great attitude and produced some very good work. It was a brilliant experience for all involved."
Matthew Nolan, CEO, Civil Society Media
"We very much look forward to continuing this exciting collaboration in 2025!"
